The students first worked together remotely. The SDU students began designing the experiment while the UHA students investigated 4F’s target audience and prepared “guidebooks on the French culture” for their partners. This first phase of the project set the stage for an in-person meeting at the UHA, where students conducted and documented their experiments. The visit to Mulhouse was a blend of cultural and academic experience. The SDU students arrived on Monday, and familiarized themselves with the UHA campus. The second day was dedicated to team building in Ribeauvillé, including a village walk, a group meal at a local restaurant, and a hike to discover the beautiful views of the region.
On the third day, the core activities took place: in the morning, the students tested and documented the Infrared-to-heat functionality of the fabric at the Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Mulhouse. They also visited the ENSISA textile laboratories and attended a conference on textiles given by Pr. Marie-Ange Bueno.
On the fourth day, for the SDU students worked together to finalize the experience. This project offered students an invaluable opportunity to develop key professional skills. By working in international teams, they enhanced their collaboration skills, learning to align diverse perspectives and overcome cultural and linguistic barriers.
