Special Call for Challenge-Based and Innovation-Based Courses

We are excited to issue a Special Call for Courses that place challenge-based and innovation-based learning at the heart of the student experience.
EPICUR believes that tomorrow’s researchers and professionals should be equipped with the competencies to address complex societal, environmental, and technological challenges. We therefore encourage course proposals that include active, participatory, and problem-oriented learning components, such as:

  • Challenge-Based Learning: Courses in which students work collaboratively on authentic, complex, and open-ended problems that mirror real-world challenges. Students are encouraged to integrate knowledge from different disciplines, engage with stakeholders, and propose evidence-based approaches or prototypes.
  • Innovation/Entrepneurship-Based Learning: Innovation courses are specialised educational programs that teach individuals how to develop and implement innovative ideas in various industries and fields. Entrepreneurship courses are a specific type of innovation courses focusing on starting and running a business venture, often based on innovative ideas.

Such courses go beyond traditional lectures and actively involve students in co-designing, testing, and refining solutions, helping students to develop transversal skills like collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and communication.
