
As part of the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), the Vice-Rectorate for Academic Affairs and Development of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) hosted a roundtable on 11 September 2025 titled “Aristotle University with a Strategic Plan for an Educational Policy of Excellence, Quality, and Extroversion.” The event showcased the university’s student-centered, international, and innovative approach to higher education.
A focus on AUTh’s strategic priorities
Distinguished professors and administrative executives outlined AUTh’s strategic priorities: strengthening teaching quality, modernising programmes, advancing research excellence, and deepening internationalisation. Discussions covered mobility programmes, international partnerships, English-taught study programmes, innovation, and digital transformation and quality assurance – with each topic presented as a lever to enhance academic excellence and global competitiveness.
Student’s voice: international engagement fosters interculturality & personal growth
Students involved in mobility and international initiatives, along with representatives from the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), the EPICUR Student Board, and the United Nations Society, shared their first-hand experiences. They highlighted how international engagement fosters intercultural competencies, personal growth, and cultivates a sense of belonging to a global academic community.
A clear commitment to further expands relationships between AUTh and EPICUR
The roundtable concluded with a clear commitment to further expanding AUTh’s global presence, intensifying international cooperation, and contributing actively to the European Higher Education Area. The importance of alliances such as EPICUR was underscored as essential for connecting universities and students across Europe, and in embedding excellence, openness and collaboration into everyday academic practice.
