In addition, AUTh organised a series of events, including original presentations and interesting discussions. The AUTh stand was honoured by visits from the Greek Ministers of Education, Economy, Finance and Foreign Affairs, representatives of political parties, stakeholders from the academic, research and business communities, as well as a large number of individual visitors.
Within the AUTh stand a prestigious booth was dedicated to the EPICUR Alliance, highlighting EPICUR’s latest developments, educational offers and mobility opportunities.
In this year’s organisation of the Thessaloniki International Fair, the country of honour was the Federal Republic of Germany. On this occasion, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology had a well-attended booth in the German Pavilion of the 88th TIF. Not only was the KIT booth honoured by a visit from German and Greek ministries, but also many of our innovative German-Greek research projects were presented at the fair.
In order to promote German-Greek cooperation from the very beginning, Ms Nadine Berends of the German school KIT also participated in the education fair from, where many fruitful discussions took place, which were continued during the TIF.
“European Universities impact on the regional Ecosystem: EPICURs vision of Employability” -event hosted in 88th TIF
As part of the TIF events, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology jointly organised the event “European Universities impact on the regional Ecosystem: EPICURs vision of employability”.
The event, which took place on September 12, 2024, was dedicated to a survey on “Workforce Skills Need Demand”, conducted by the members of the EPICUR Alliance in the nine regions where EPICUR universities are located. The presentation of the survey results focused on the skills needs in the regions of Central Macedonia and Upper Rhine. The speakers, Nadine Berends, EPICUR Student Liaison Officer at KIT, and Elpida Vianni, Head of the Centre for Education and Lifelong Learning at AUTh and member of the EPICUR AUTh team, also presented the work of AUTh and KIT in the field of lifelong learning. The event closed with questions and discussion with the public, moderated by Mania Vogiatzi, Career Counsellor at the AUTh Career Office.
On Friday 13th September, members of the EPICUR AUTh team, Penny Partakelidou, Ioanna Georgiadou, Dimitra Mentekidou and Nikolaos Liolios, welcomed Ms Nadine Berends, EPI-CUR Student Liaison Officer from KIT, at AUTh and had a fruitful meeting discussing student mobility and EPICUR dissemination issues.
