What is the ECRB?

The Early Career Researchers Board (ECR Board / ECRB) of EPICUR is the voice of early career researchers (ECRs) within the Alliance, representing the ECR perspective, with a keen focus on research-oriented activities and related issues. The ECR Board is composed of two representatives from each partner university.

The ECR Board members have an advisory (and steering) role, as consulting members on the EPICUR Management Board and Executive Board and full members in the Committees. The ECRB members are knowledgeable of the latest research trends in their fields, passionate about innovation and eager to spark and cultivate new collaborations. Equipped with these qualities, they introduce fresh perspectives into open-minded discussions. The incorporation of new viewpoints enhances contributions, shaping opportunities tailored to the needs and preferences of ECRs and aiding in identifying creative solutions.

The mission of the ECRB is to:

- Provide constructive input and feedback on planned and implemented EPICUR activities
- Propose new activities for the Alliance
- Assist in project visibility at the local level (external communication and dissemination)
- Represent the interests of ECRs across EPICUR

How to get involved?

For ECRs, involvement in the EPICUR Alliance and the ECR Board provides the following advantages:

- Enhancing the network of young researchers and collaborators
- Fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and dialogue
- Developing and enforcing intercultural exchange and diversity
- Supporting the Humanities and STEM visibility and collaboration to close the gap between disciplines and profit from each other’s knowledge
- Learning from different models of structural organisation and governance
- Finding new ways to support and profit from the intellectual potential represented by ECRs
- Developing management and diplomacy skills (working with cultural differences and international viewpoints)
- Gaining leadership experience (by supporting and training research colleagues)
- Achieving visibility within and outside the EPICUR Alliance
