Meet Teba Gil Diaz, Postdoctoral research at KIT
Teba Gil Diaz is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Applied Geosciences interested in the reactivity and transport of trace elements in aquatic systems. As part of her YIG Prep Pro fellowship at KIT, her current research aims at combining geochemical models with field observations for analysing and understanding the mobility and bioavailability of both commonly studied and less monitored trace elements. This approach allows identifying dominant processes and digitalizing continent-ocean transition systems (towards the development of numerical twins), indispensable for reliable predictions of current and future waterway dynamics affected by, e.g., anthropogenic impacts or unexpected radionuclide releases.
