Meet Michal Gesiarz, PhD student in History at AMU
Michal Gesiarz is a PhD student in history at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. His academic major is modern history with geographical focus on Scandinavia and Central Eastern Europe. His thesis concerns the grassroots side of Norwegian-Polish relations in the 1980s. In addition, he’s interested in theoretical aspects of solidarity, humanitarianism and development aid. He works and teaches within the framework of global and transational history.
Over the years, he has been a member of several student and doctoral organizations. Most recently, he served as a chairman of the PhD Student Council at AMU Doctoral School of Humanities. As a member of the EPICUR ECR Board, he aims to support initiatives that bring closer researchers in humanities from various European regions and foster the position of humanities in the changing international academic world.
